The Birth of an Idea
Adrian travels to Zell am See to explore F. A. Porsche’s function‑first mindset and how it shaped the Chronograph 1.

The Chronograph 1 – All Black Numbered Edition stays true to the heritage of the original 1972 model designed by Prof. Ferdinand Alexander Porsche. Made in Switzerland, the watch inspires those like Orlando Bloom, that share his two great passions: Automotive engineering and timekeeping.

Where does true fandom start? For Orlando, it was back when he was 17 and discovered a pair of second-hand Carrera sun-glasses. His appreciation has since grown into a private Porsche collection. From the ‘black and tan’ 1973 911s he found early in his career and still drives to this day, to his Chronograph 1 – All Black Numbered Edition.
The watch that has become his go-to. A creative soul with an eye for design, Orlando Bloom has a deep appreciation for the design language first created by F. A. Porsche.
“As a watch lover, I look at this watch and I just say ‘yes’.”

Based on shared values of authenticity and dedication, this partnership reflects not only a deep understanding of heritage but a well-cultivated passion for expertly manufactured icons: “For me, Porsche Design embodies just that: timeless design and the highest quality.”
