Our all-electric models, the Porsche Taycan and Porsche Macan Electric, offer flexibility to use both direct current (DC) and alternating current (AC) charging stations for convenient charging. For owners of our E-Hybrid models, such as the Porsche Cayenne and the Porsche Panamera, alternating current (AC) charging stations are available, offering a simple and efficient way of charging.

The Porsche Taycan and the Porsche Macan Electric are equipped with modern CCS2 (DC) and Type 2 (AC) charging plugs in Europe. Our hybrid models, including the Porsche Cayenne and the Porsche Panamera, are equipped with a Type 2 (AC) charging plug.

The time it takes your vehicle to charge is influenced by a number of factors, from the available power from your local power supply to specific settings on your charger, energy manager and vehicle settings. External conditions such as the temperature and battery charging condition of the high-voltage battery, the interior preconditioning and the specifications of your domestic installation also impact the charging time.

When charging from an alternating current (AC) source, the power output of the on-board charger integrated in the vehicle is also important. This means that the actual charging time may vary. Porsche offers the innovative Charging Planner to help you reliably plan when to charge your vehicle. This tool optimises the charging session by, for example, preconditioning the battery in order to achieve the best possible charging output.

The Online Pre-Check, which is available in some countries, is used to check the prerequisites for using Porsche charging equipment in your home. The Online Pre-Check is free of charge and can be carried out conveniently from your couch, for example. For a more detailed check, you can have a Home Check (availability depends on the country) performed by an external service partner through your Porsche Partner. During this process, your electrical infrastructure will be checked and details about the equipment installation at your home can be coordinated.

The installation of home charging equipment could be considered a structural change. To ensure a smooth process, we recommend that you contact all relevant parties in advance. These include your energy supplier, the local city administration, your building community and, if applicable, your landlord.

To ensure that your home infrastructure is optimally prepared for installation, we offer a Home Check by one of our experts in some countries. This will give you a detailed assessment of your existing installation.
