Description
The Porsche 962 was a variant, introduced in 1984, of the Porsche 956 developed in 1982 for the FIA Group C, which also met the stipulations of the American IMSA race series. The new chassis could be used by teams in both series. The version featuring Group C compliant technology was designated as Porsche 962C. After overall wins in 1986, 1987, 1990 and 1994, the success story of the 962 C at the famous 24 Hours of Daytona came to an end.
