Description

The Porsche Kid Seat i-Size is suitable for small children between 76 cm and 105 cm. It can be used for children aged from 15 months to 4 years and a maximum weight of 22 kg. The child seat can be fastened using the ISOFIX system and via the top tether (additional belt) for optimal stability. The Porsche Kid Seat i-Size was developed by Porsche with a unique design and has "PORSCHE" logos on both sides.

The Porsche Kid Seat i-Size has:

multiple adjustable seat positions and shoulder belts side impact protection to absorb forces and to control the sequence of movements in the case of an impact integrated headrest adjustment for age-appropriate seat positioning a 5-point belt system with safety lock to provide better support

The Porsche Kid Seat i-Size meets the latest requirements of the pan-European safety standard ECE-R129/00 (i-Size).

The i-Size regulation ensures an even higher level of child safety by providing better protection of the head and neck area in the event of side and front impact and the prescribed backward-facing positioning for children up to the age of 15 months. A length classification in centimetres makes it easier to choose the correct child seat and replaces the previous specification in kilograms. i-Size supports the ISOFIX system, which produces a rigid connection between the vehicle body and child seat and minimises the risk of incorrect installation.

Please note: When using on the passenger seat, only use in combination with the existing ISOFIX system and vehicle-specific approval. Please refer to the product and vehicle user instructions and the type list for information on the vehicles and vehicle seats for which the Porsche Kid Seat i-Size is approved. Child restraint systems must not be used in conjunction with sports bucket or full bucket seats.

What age and size is the Porsche Kid Seat i-Size for?

Use the Porsche Kid Seat i-Size for children from 76 to 105 cm in height and up to 22 kg in weight, which typically covers the age range from around 15 months to four years. The seat is designed to take over from the Porsche Baby Seat i-Size once your child outgrows it, and to be replaced in turn by the Porsche Junior Seat i-Size at around four years of age.

When should I move my child from the Porsche Baby Seat to the Kid Seat i-Size?

Move up to the Porsche Kid Seat i-Size once your child reaches 15 months of age and 76 cm in height, whichever comes later. The Porsche Baby Seat i-Size is designed exclusively for rear-facing use up to 15 months, and children under 15 months must travel rear-facing under the i-Size regulation regardless of height or weight. Once your child is both 15 months old and at least 76 cm tall, the forward-facing Kid Seat i-Size becomes the correct choice.

Can the Porsche Kid Seat i-Size be installed rear-facing?

No. The Porsche Kid Seat i-Size is designed for forward-facing installation only. For children under 15 months who must travel rear-facing, choose the Porsche Baby Seat i-Size instead.

Which Porsche models is the Kid Seat i-Size compatible with?

The Kid Seat i-Size is approved for use in Porsche vehicles with i-Size certified seat positions equipped with ISOFIX fastening points and a Top Tether anchor. Check the vehicle-specific approval list in the product instructions and your vehicle's owner's manual before purchase, as approvals vary by model, model year, and seat position.

Can I fit the Porsche Kid Seat i-Size in a 911 with sports bucket seats?

No. Child restraint systems, including the Porsche Kid Seat i-Size, must not be used with sports bucket or full bucket seats. Many 911 GT models come with the optional bucket seat package, so verify your specific seat configuration before ordering. If your 911 is fitted with standard sports seats, check the vehicle type list to confirm the specific seat positions approved for the Kid Seat i-Size.

Can I use the Porsche Kid Seat i-Size on the front passenger seat?

Only in combination with the existing ISOFIX system and only where your vehicle's owner's manual approves that specific seat position for i-Size child restraints. If the front passenger seat is used, deactivate the passenger airbag before installing the seat, and slide the passenger seat well backwards. Follow every airbag and vehicle-specific instruction in your Porsche owner's manual precisely.

What is i-Size and how is it different from the older ECE R44 standard?

i-Size is the informal name for the ECE R129 regulation, the current pan-European standard for child car seats. Compared with the older ECE R44 standard, i-Size requires more rigorous side-impact testing, provides significantly better head and neck protection, classifies seats by child height in centimetres rather than by weight in kilograms, and mandates rear-facing travel until at least 15 months of age. The Porsche Kid Seat i-Size is approved to ECE R129/02, the current version of the i-Size regulation.

Can I install the Kid Seat i-Size using the vehicle seat belt instead of ISOFIX?

No. The Porsche Kid Seat i-Size is designed for ISOFIX installation with Top Tether only. If your Porsche does not have ISOFIX fastenings and a Top Tether anchor at the seat position you wish to use, this seat cannot be installed there.

What should I do if the Kid Seat has been involved in an accident?

Replace the seat. In any collision above 10 km/h, the seat may sustain internal damage that is not visible from the outside. Continuing to use a seat that has been in an accident can significantly reduce or eliminate its protective function, so dispose of the seat properly and fit a new one. As a general rule, have the seat professionally inspected after any incident that may have damaged it, including a heavy fall.

How do I clean the Porsche Kid Seat i-Size?

Remove the cover and wash it in a delicates programme at 30 °C using a mild detergent, following the instructions on the wash label. Wash the shoulder pads separately in lukewarm soapy water. Clean the plastic parts and the harness with soapy water only, never with solvents or abrasive cleaners. Never use the seat without its cover fitted, as the cover is an integral part of the safety system. Replacement Porsche Tequipment covers are available, including Heritage Pepita, Heritage Turbo 50 tartan, and the standard Comfort cover.
