Product Details

Description

The innovative Porsche Performance roof box was developed at the Weissach Development Centre specially for Porsche vehicles. It has undergone extensive tests in a high-tech wind tunnel. The result? An aerodynamic design und first-class drag coefficient.

The Porsche Performance roof box has been tested at speeds of up to 200 km/h (approx. 124 mph) for the following models:

Taycan (J1, J1 II) Cayenne (E3, E3 II) Macan (II, III, H2) Panamera (G2, G2 II, G3)

For 911 models (992, 992 II) a maximum speed of 130 km/h is recommended.

The Performance roof box therefore combines sportiness with individual design and functionality: in black high-gloss with silver "PORSCHE" logo on the rear, the aerodynamic plastic box fully lives up to the exclusive style of your Porsche. As a special highlight, the blades on the side painted in Black (high-gloss) are replaceable and available both in select exterior colours and as a custom-painted version. This way, it's easy to adapt the Porsche Perfomance roof box to suit your vehicle. With a capacity of 480 litres and a possible payload of up to 75 kg, it offers additional storage space for your next adventure. Thanks to the practical quick-mount PowerClick system, fitting the roof box is fast and uncomplicated. And with the supplied fastening straps and two-sided opening, loading is extremely convenient as well.

Please note: The Porsche Performance roof box impacts on the aerodynamics of your Porsche and can lead to the achievable range being lower. The influence of the Porsche Performance roof box on the range is not taken into consideration by the route planner:

Which Porsche models is the Performance Roof Box compatible with?

Fit the Porsche Performance Roof Box to the Taycan (J1, J1 II), Cayenne (E3, E3 II), Macan (II, III, H2), Panamera (G2, G2 II, G3), and 911 (992, 992 II). Each model requires its own specific Porsche base roof transport system, which is sold separately.

Do I need anything else to fit the roof box to my Porsche?

Yes. The Performance Roof Box mounts to a Porsche base roof transport system, which is model-specific and must be ordered separately. The correct base carrier SKU for each Porsche is listed on the product page, and the roof box itself cannot be fitted without it.

How much can the Porsche Performance Roof Box carry?

The box has a capacity of 480 litres and a maximum payload of 75 kg. In practical terms, that is enough for two sets of ski or snowboard equipment, several large suitcases, or a full complement of family holiday luggage. Always check that your vehicle's total maximum roof load rating (base carrier plus roof box plus contents) is not exceeded.

What is the maximum speed I can drive with the roof box fitted?

The Porsche Performance Roof Box has been wind-tunnel tested at speeds of up to 200 km/h (approximately 124 mph) on the Taycan, Cayenne, Macan, and Panamera. On the 911 (992, 992 II), Porsche recommends a maximum speed of 130 km/h with the roof box fitted. Always observe local speed limits.

Will the roof box affect my Porsche's electric range?

Yes. Any roof-mounted accessory increases aerodynamic drag and reduces achievable range on electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles. The Porsche Performance Roof Box has been developed at the Weissach Development Centre and wind-tunnel optimised to minimise this impact, but a reduction in range is unavoidable. Note that the vehicle's route planner does not take the roof box into account when calculating range, so factor this in manually on longer journeys and consider removing the box when it is not needed.

How quickly can the roof box be fitted and removed?

The PowerClick quick-mount system attaches the box to the base roof transport system in minutes without tools, and the same system releases the box just as quickly when you no longer need it. This makes it practical to fit the box for a specific trip and remove it afterwards to restore your Porsche's normal driving dynamics and, on electric models, its full range.

Can I open the roof box from both sides of the car?

Yes. The Performance Roof Box features dual-side opening, so you can load and unload from either side of your Porsche. This is particularly useful when the box is packed to capacity, when you have parked with one side of the car against a wall or kerb, or when you need to reach specific items without unloading everything.

Can I customise the appearance of the roof box?

Yes. The side blades of the roof box are finished in Black (high-gloss) as standard and are fully replaceable. Order the blades in a selection of Porsche exterior colours to match your vehicle, or specify a custom-painted finish through your Porsche Partner for a bespoke look. The silver PORSCHE logo on the rear panel remains as standard.

What are the exact dimensions of the roof box?

The Porsche Performance Roof Box measures 211.4 cm in length, 90.8 cm in width, and 43.4 cm in height. The generous length is designed to accommodate skis, snowboards, and long luggage items that would not otherwise fit inside the vehicle.

Where was the Porsche Performance Roof Box developed?

The Performance Roof Box was developed at the Porsche Development Centre in Weissach and tested extensively in a high-tech wind tunnel, following the same engineering approach used for Porsche vehicles themselves. This is why the box is optimised specifically for Porsche models rather than being a generic accessory adapted for use across multiple brands.
