Description
Electrified Since 1893. The story of Porsche begins with a spark: In 1893, Ferdinand Porsche brought the future to his parental home in the form of an electric lighting system. With that, he quite literally flipped the switch on his career as a pioneer in electromobility. In 1898, he built his first electric car with rear-wheel drive. The steerable wheel-hub drive that he presented in Paris in 1900 in a Lohner-Porsche electric car was marketable. In the very same year, he created the world's first functioning hybrid vehicle. Under the motto "Porsche Intelligent Performance", the company returned to these ideas in 2010. The new book from Edition Porsche Museum creates a link from early electromobility with road and race cars through modern hybrid concepts up to the Taycan, the first fully electric Sports Car from Porsche.
